Please join us for our annual meeting as we elect new board members, receive the Friends financial report, and learn about the water quality challenges in Barnegat Bay and Great Bay.
This will be very special evening because not only will we be celebrating the 20th Anniversary of our organization, but we will also be honoring our outgoing board member and the founder of Friends, Dr. Ed Bristow!
Light refreshments and cake will be served.
Our highlighted speaker this evening will be Willie deCamp, President of Save Barnegat Bay. He will talk about the coastal water quality of Barnegat and Great Bays, sea level rise, and how to best understand the causes and solutions to problems and challenges. Subjects include nitrogen levels, the critical role of the Forsythe NWR in protecting our coasts, and the benefits that will occur for Barnegat Bay when Oyster Creek Nuclear Generating Station is closed. Save Barnegat Bay has been intimately involved with the Forsythe Refuge since 1988. Mr. deCamp especially looks forward to conversing with the Friends’ audience because he believes that Save Barnegat Bay and the Friends of Forsythe have very similar missions and interests.
