Welcome to Friends of Forsythe

Supporting the mission of the
Edwin B. Forsythe National Wildlife Refuge

To enhance your trip through the Refuge, Friends of Forsythe NWR have produced a Wildlife Drive Audio Tour, which you can access by clicking the link in the sidebar or in the Visit menu above. The tour starts at the Leeds Eco Trail, so be sure to start listening as soon as you leave the parking lot and start driving past the Visitors’ Center on your left.

The Edwin B. Forsythe National Wildlife Refuge is open 7 days a week from sunrise to sunset. The Wildlife Drive, trails, and boardwalk are all open to visitors. These are located in the Galloway Township section of the Refuge. Other trails and viewing platforms are also located in other parts of the Refuge.

The Visitor Information Center is open for visitors. There are interactive displays are in the Gallery and a film introduction to the Refuge is available. For more information about the Visitor Information Center, click here.

The multimedia room is open Wednesday-Sunday, 10 am to 2 pm (closed on federal holidays).

The Nature Store, operated by the Friends of Forsythe, is located in the Visitor Information Center. It is open the same hours as the Center. There are many interesting items available for purchase. All profits from Nature Store sales directly benefit Refuge programs.

OspreyCam: There are several Osprey nests on the Refuge. Two video cameras monitor one nest. This project is a partnership between Friends of Forsythe, Conserve Wildlife NJ and local resident Jim Ginn. Nest activity is viewable on a monitor in the Visitor Information Center. You can also view it on your computer — click here to watch our Ospreys raise their young.
