Due to COVID-19, the Jitney will not be scheduled until the fall of 2021.
Friends of Forsythe offers free guided tours of Wildlife Drive on selected Saturdays throughout the year. This is our ninth season! Wildlife Drive is one of the top 10 birding spots in NJ due to the large amount of habitat for migrating birds along the Atlantic Flyway, and for other types of wildlife. Our volunteer interpreters will accompany the visitors and relay interesting facts about the Refuge, along with discussions of the wildlife sighted.
We have recently changed the vehicle from an electric tram to a Jitney, which offers improved comfort including more seats, bigger seats, heat, air conditioning, large windows for good viewing, and room for one wheelchair. (Please note that there are no restrooms on the Jitney.)
There is no cost for these tours. The Friends request a donation from tour participants. These donations help defray the cost of operating the Forsythe Explorer.
